Exploitation of tunnels: Security and facilities

80% of the tunnels does not accomplish the new European security policy. To adapt this 80%, Spain will invest 360 million euros. This congress on operation of tunnels, will explore key content of that legislation, including issues such as recruitment, manual operation or control centres.

Juan Manuel Sanz, Head of Transport Facilities Section of Euroestudios, participated in this congress with a presentation of tunnel ventilation (ventilation rates, keys to design and calculation of ventilation, control algorithms, testing and commissioning). Meanwhile, Constantino Gago, R&D Secion Head, analyzed the practical experience of industry regarding detection and fire fighting.
