XXIV World Road Congress Mexico 2011

 From 26 th to 30 th September, Mexico City hosted the XXIV World Road Congress, the most  important event of the sector worldwide. In this edition, focused on development, mobility and sustainability, there will be present secretaries and representatives from 30 countries as well as specialist of more than 100 countries.

This meeting is a great opportunity to facilitate the collaboration between governments, companies and associations related to this sector of engineering and an important forum for roads professionals.

During the course of the event, Euroestudios will have the opportunity to show its extensive experience in feasibility studies, detailed designs and site supervision of tunnels and roads. In addition, the company will share the last advances, knowledges and experiences in all the areas of road transport.

 

 

Engineering, NGOs and Development Cooperation

Tecniberia and the regional asociation Asicma have organized the seminar entitled "Engineering, NGOs and Development Cooperation", that will  treat the private - public cooperation projects where spanish engineering companies are involved as well as its contribution to the Official Development Assistance recipients.

The Secretary of State for International Cooperation, the Spanish Agency of International Cooperation, the Headquarter of Development Cooperation of Madrid Community, the Federation of CEIM, several NGOs and many companies of engineering sector, between them Euroestudios, will attend to the conference.

Carlos Vargas, head of International Hydraulic Engineering section at Euroestudios, takes part in in this event with a presentation about the first phase of the Technical Assistance Project to the drinkable water supply in Malanje's City, Angola, developed by Euroestudios.

Master of Tunnels and Underground Works

The Spanish Association of Tunnels and Underground Works (AETOS), in collaboration with the Colegio de Caminos, Canales y Puertos (Spanish Society of Civil Engineers) and Agustin de Betancourt Foundation offered a master's course in Tunnels and Underground Works, which was held from January to June 2011. It was targeted to civil engineers and geologists and consisted of four modules, including specialised training in the area of tunnels and underground works.

Ms Silmara de Assis (Civil Engineer in the International Section of the Transport Infrastructure Department of EUROESTUDIOS) gave a lecture on "Jet - Grouting: Numerical Analysis",included in the module on tunnel construction, based on her PhD thesis entitled "Optimization of protection measures for different types of structures during tunnel excavation".
