Technical seminar on Roller-Compacted Concrete Dams in El Salvador

Euroestudios organized a technical seminar on Roller-Compacted Concrete (RCC) Dams in El Salvador. The program, given to the technical staff of the Executive Hydroelectric Commission of the Lempa River, was held between 18 and 22 June and included a visit to the works of El Chaparral dam, in which Euroestudios is involved.

In this seminar, Euroestudios's technical staff and experts in materials and dams construction explained the most important aspects to consider in the design process and construction of dams.

The program also included several recommendations, focusing on the particular features of El Chaparral Hydroelectric Central Project, which will be built in Roller-Compacted Concrete. In particular, it were explained general aspects of dam design, planning, building processes and quality control as well as recommended materials and mixtures of RCC.

Consulting engineering sector meets with CHG president

The president of the Guadalquivir River Basin Authority, Manuel Romero Ortiz, participated in a meeting last June 14 with over 17 companies representatives of the Andalucia Consulting Engineering Association (ASICA), including Euroestudios.

During the meeting, issues such as investment planning of the River Basin and the reorganization of the Agency after the reversal of competences for managing Guadalquivir waters were discussed.

The president of the Guadalquivir River Basin Authority explained that the agency plans to invest over 3 million euros this year and highlighted the most relevant works that will be developed such as the operation and maintenance of the basin's dams and the Lower Guadalquivir Channel.

Meanwhile, ASICA's representatives showed interest on these projects and asked for the CHG's president certainty in the terms and investment plans for the basin.

 

 

Symposium on Spanish engineering offer and its international promotion

The Civil Engineering Society of Madrid demarcation organized the 18th june a symposium on Spanish engineering offer and its international presence, framed within the internationalization scholarships program for young engineers.

This program consist of a training course on international project management for the scholarship recipients who will do, in a second phase, an internship in an international office of one of the companies engage in the program.

Oussama Abatourab, head of Abu Dhabi branch office and Business Development Manager for Africa, Middle East and Central Asia area at Euroestudios, took part in this symposium with a presentation on the company's experience in Abu Dhabi.

In this event was also present Ricardo Conejo, Business Development Coordinator for Middle East area at Euroestudios, who shared with the participants his previous internship experience in Euroestudios Abu Dhabi branch office.
